What we need...

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are looking to recruit a Solution Architect to join our Solutions Team.

As this role is vital to ensuring our technology aligns with business needs and supports strategic delivery, we’re looking for experienced individuals, with a proven experience in working as Solutions Architect, with good awareness of concepts of Enterprise Architecture, expertise in Solution Architecture and ability to dive into Technical Architecture as required.

What you will be doing…

Reporting to the Head of Architecture and working within Architecture Team and designated Scrum Teams, successful Solution Architect will be primarily responsible for assessing and evaluating TerraQuest’s business needs and determining how technology can support those needs, leveraging relevant software and infrastructure technology.

Working closely with the Solutions Operations Team, Solution Architect will bridge communication between technology department and business operations to ensure key people are aligned in developing and implementing technical solutions for business problems.

Essential skills and experience:

Successful candidates will demonstrate following:

Business Needs Analysis: Evaluates business requirements and translates them into technical solutions that align with TerraQuest’s strategic objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and future-ready.

High-Level Architecture: Develops high-level solution designs and technical documentation that conform to enterprise architecture standards.

Technical Leadership: Provides mentorship and guidance to development teams, particularly in software design, implementation, and deployment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitates communication between IT and business operations to ensure alignment on technical solutions.

Cloud Architecture: Demonstrates deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, with a preference for its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings.

Infrastructure Design: Designs scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions that support business goals.

DevOps & CI/CD: Applies knowledge of Azure DevOps, including build and deployment pipelines and release management.

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Brings proven experience in shaping and guiding software development within Agile/Scrum environments.

Innovation & Sustainability: Contributes to business development strategies and internal initiatives that promote sustainability and long-term growth.

Advantageous skills and experience:

Familiarity with data related concepts and technologies in the cloud space

Familiarity with UK government digital service standards

Geographic Information Systems and understanding of geospatial concepts and technologies

Agile delivery in public sector projects
