The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer to work on a large-scale, cloud-hosted data platform for a key Version 1 customer.

You will join a high-performing team delivering a transformative data solution, contributing from early proof of concept through to full production implementation. The role is well suited to a self-starting engineer with deep technical expertise and a passion for building scalable, high-quality data platforms.

You will work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, and Databricks, alongside modern cloud and open-source tooling, delivering robust data pipelines under tight delivery timelines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and develop robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Snowpark, dbt, SQL, and orchestration tools such as ADF or Airflow
• Implement Snowflake capabilities including Zero-Copy Cloning, Time Travel, Materialized Views, Tasks, and Streams
• Embed data quality checks, lineage, and observability across pipelines
• Optimise performance through warehouse tuning, caching strategies, micro-partitioning, and query optimisation
• Apply FinOps best practices including right-sizing compute, auto-suspend and resume, usage dashboards, and resource monitoring
• Configure security and governance controls including RBAC, masking policies, row-level security, and tag-based governance
• Operationalise data contracts and collaborate with platform and security teams to meet compliance requirements
• Build scalable, reusable ingestion and transformation frameworks for large datasets
• Collaborate with wider delivery teams across reporting, APIs, and search components
• Work within Agile and DevOps delivery models, delivering iteratively from proof of concept to production

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines using Snowpark, dbt, SQL, and orchestration tools such as ADF or Airflow
• Strong experience designing and delivering data solutions on Azure and or AWS
• Experience building data warehouse solutions using ETL or ELT tools such as Databricks or Teradata
• Deep understanding of data management best practices including profiling, sourcing, cleansing, and data quality frameworks
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines

Nice to Have

• SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect or Data Engineer certification
• Relevant cloud certifications across Azure or AWS
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms
